It will need to be in PDF and PDF only. Anything else won't work and will be disregarded by the script goblins working behind the scenes.
You upload it twice to provide the prospective buyer a first 10% look at your screenplay as a way to decide if they want to purchase the full script. One script for preview, one full script to purchase.
If the adaptation is from a book you've written or from a piece of public domain work, you can definitely upload it on Specc. However, if it's copyrighted work or contains copyrighted material, then unfortunately you can't have upload it. We love rules here at Specc, we follow them with passion.
You will receive an email confirming your script has been uploaded. It will contain all the details of your upload. And, when we go live, you'll receive another email confirming that. Neither communication will contain a picture of any frogs or reptiles. We apologise in advance.
WHAT A DISASTER! Don't worry, it's really not. Let us know if you've uploaded the wrong script, send us the correct one and we'll swap it for you. Soon we'll have a cool delete feature. But for now, we need to be old and we need to be fashioned.
